An activity themed on “anti-fraud”held in our university for an increased self-protection awareness and security on the campus

In order to maintain the security on the campus, to strengthen students awareness of self protection against crimes such as frauds, and to insurestudents’personal and property safety, the departments of students’affairs,security, logistics and Youth League Committee have jointly held an activity themed on anti-fraud.

Onthe evening of 13 September, a seminar was delivered by Yan Dongni, vice section chief of financial investigation, Jiangsu Public Security Department,who was invited to talk on the topic of “building a sense of protection,safeguarding our youth”, the seminar covered a wide range of information oncollege students anti-pyramid selling, anti-campus loans, anti-fraud on theinternet. Citing abundant crime cases, Yan Dongni summarized in great detailsthe possible illegal traps the college students might get caught. By describing the characteristics of the frauds that might trap the innocent students by fairmeans or foul, she helped students distinguish the routine fixed patterns of criminals, and with great patience, she introduced various methods of safe-protection against crimes.

After the seminar, leaders of the university, JinLixia and YouJiachun reinforced the students to be alert to possible crimes and build a strong sense of self-protection, meanwhile, students were expected to consume rationally and scientifically. Meanwhile, they called upon the students to be more prudent and contribute to the construction of a more harmonious and safer campus.

The next day, students unions launched an activity on both campuses to reemphasize the guard against financial crimes by inviting passer-bys to sign on a banner which carried slogans of anti-frauds.

This activity was received favorably among students and teachers who accordantly agree that students are more aware of frauds and more vigilant after the activity so that they can stay away from pyramid-selling, campus loans, and internet frauds.
